Moda Blog Hop Winners

Congratulations to the winners of the Moda Blog Hop!

Gail in Durham NC - The Dodds won the Scrumptious Fat Eighth bundle.  She said:

"Oh Bonnie, I love all your patterns but if I must Poppies is my favorite. I really think any of your patterns made with your fabric are fresh looking and so cheerful and sure to please anyone that ends up with a quilt I made for them using your fabrics and patterns. You fabric and patterns are the first I go to and now have quite a few to make so I can give them away to friends.
So pretty!"

and for a charm pack of Scrumptious and favorite pattern:

Logan Marriot
"Funny story about your MIL, she obviously didn't realize what great things were coming in that small package, ha! I think my favorite pattern right now would have to be Carousel ride, but Twirl is a close second! Thanks for the giveaway!"

and

Carol:
"I like your pattern Baskets of Marmalade. Love your pattern today too, so cute. My husband is a foot taller than me too, used to it after 34 years of marriage. Have a nice day."

Please e-mail your addresses and I will get your Scrumptious fabric right out!

Check out the Moda blog today to get instructions for putting your blocks together.

Thanks to all of you that stopped by and for your lovely comments. Come back often, I am busy designing new patterns for Quilt Market next month and will be introducing those soon!

Moda Bog Hop

Welcome to my day for the Moda Blog Hop.

Hi, I am Bonnie and my pattern company is
Cotton Way

I hope you are all enjoying collecting blocks and lots of ideas for projects to give you some
quilt therapy.

With lots of giveaways for fabric, patterns and quilting gadgets, whats not to love about each and every Moda Blog Hop?

Speaking of Size Matters...

...when my husband and I got engaged, my future mother-in-law said, "You can't marry her, she is too short!" She was very serious. I was speechless. Coming from a mother of basketball players, as you can see, she had a valid point. (I am wearing the tallest shoes I could find.)  Her son is a foot taller than me and she certainly didn't want short grandchildren. To her, size did matter.  After many years, I am pretty sure she has totally forgotten about that comment and I don't think it matters at all to her now. Yes, he does have a cast on his arm, actually, one on each arm (that's why he is wearing a cream colored suit - we thought that way maybe no one would notice). And yes, they were basketball injuries, but that's a story for another day.

My block is called Greek Cross and I decided to make it scrappy.

I stitched three of the blocks together and made it into a Table Runner.

You can find my block instructions here.

It can be made from one Charm Pack which you can find  here.
The binding is also scrappy and is part of the charm pack. Such an easy project.

My daughter Camille and I design fabric for Moda. Our latest line is Scrumptious.

A few pics from my patterns from this line.

Just make a comment telling me which Cotton Way pattern is your favorite and
what project you just can't wait to start.

I will announce the winner on September 16 so please come back to see who the winners are.

To much excitement!

Saturday, while we were at the cabin for the weekend, my husband went out to the garage and was surprised to find a bear just coming in with her two cubs.  He closed the door and yelled "There's a bear!"

I hurried to the window to look, thinking she must be fairly far away and had no idea she was actually in our garage.  My husband must have scared her or she didn't find the grilled hamburgers we had made for lunch and she started to leave, watching us very closely as she left.  When she was far enough away, we all went outside to see for our own eyes, so grateful we were not part of the 3rd bear attack news story.

My son-in-law, Jarom took this picture - thanks Jarom. The pictures I took of the bears were much further away!

The day before we heard on the news of 2 bear attacks fairly close to where our cabin is.  One was a mother bear and two cubs and was just a few miles from us.  We are wondering if it wasn't the same bears.

I have lived in Idaho most of my life and been to West Yellowstone many times and have never seen a bear up close. I thought it would be fun to see one, but that was a little to close for me. Needless to say, we slept with the windows closed that night...

Hope your summer is exciting, but not the "bear in your garage" kind of excitement,
Bonnie

Fresh and Fancy

A few years ago I designed a Table Runner series called Fresh and Fancy.

The idea behind it is, one side has a little more detail, so it is a little Fancier
and the other side is more simple, Fresh.

You can make either or both.

You can make it double sided so you can change your table just by flipping it over.
Either way, its 2 table runners in 1 pattern.

I had not added them to my new shop until now, so I just thought I would let you know they are there in PDF or paper patterns!

And if you put FRESHANDFANCY in the discount box you can get $3.00 off each pattern.

They are 21" x 42".  Take a look...

Have a great day!
