Just let me start out with a big "Thank You" to Kimberly and the Fat Quarter Shop team!
So thrilled that you chose our Vintage Modern line for the 2012 Designer Mystery Block of the Month! I just happened to get a sneak peek of the entire quilt and it is absolutely beautiful.
Ladies, you will not want to miss out on this project. Trust me on this one.
It's been such a fun line to design with.
Vintage Modern will be available before you know it!
(Watch for it in May)
So, here is my Vintage Modern item from my closet.
Just a couple of clues.
They were my Mom's before they were mine...
I let my kids play dress up in them a few years ago...
(not sure why I did that!!!)
They had something to do with this...
...and yes, they will be passed down to one of my girls...
(possibly, the one in the picture above).
Hint: It might not be that obvious, you might want to think twice before you answer.
Hmmm, another clue maybe...
If you are right, you could be the winner for one of these...
Since it is Bonnie and Camille day for the hop, pop on over and enter on Camille's blog too!
Then stop by Fig Tree tomorrow and see what clues Joanna has for you.

pearl necklace???
ReplyDeleteThey look like family pearls to me!
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric, lovely giveaway!
I'm going to go with pearls. ?
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was pearls - worn first by your mother, then you on your wedding days.
ReplyDeleteBut would you let a child play with them? Then I recalled that I had let my son use my pearls and other jewellery as treasure when he was playing Pirates once upon a time.
So I am sticking with pearls and you being a lovely mummy!
Pearls, I believe!
ReplyDeleteIt has to be a pearl necklace!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a strand of pearls to me!

ReplyDeleteA family heirloom, full of memories, and will continue to create memories for many generations, I too have my mother's pearl necklace and will pass them on to my daughter where they go after that I have no clue, she has 3 boys, hopefully there will be another girl on down the line to happily wear them as I have. Vintage Modern for eternity :)
ReplyDeleteIs it a pearl necklace that you wore at your wedding?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess pearl earrings.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity!
Pearls, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter wore my mother's pearls at her wedding...I'm going to go with a pearl necklace.
ReplyDeletePearls. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteShawn M.
A beautiful string of pearls....you would wear pearls around the neck or the wrist. As a bridesmaid back in the 70's I was given a pearl bracelet. Pearls are perfect to pass down from generation to generation...good choice for the vintage modern blog hop!!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say pearl necklace....so classic!
ReplyDeleteA lovely three generation string of pearls...how cool is that!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing a beautiful pearl necklace! They are so classic. Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to guess a pearl necklace.
ReplyDeleteI am going to go with a pearl necklace and I love how it's been passed down through generations. Thank you for a chance to win and for designing such adorable fabric.

I'm going with a pearl necklace although it could be a bedspread for all I know from the last part of your post :)
ReplyDeleteA lovely family treasure... absolutely made of pearls, but what it is? If it's not so obvious like a necklace, then I'll guess it's a gorgeous bracelet.
ReplyDeletePearls.... what a treasure!
ReplyDeleteI will say- pearl earrings... :)Tanis
ReplyDeletetshura@roadrunner.com
Bonnie, I think they are pearls-yes, but no longer in necklace form. I bet somewhere along the line they came unstrung and now are sewn on your daughter's wedding dress, and will be used that way for many more weddings to come. What a great way to share such a special gift!
ReplyDeleteI think it may be a peral bracelet.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say it is a strand of pearls. I am fortunate to own my grandmother's pearl necklace and earrings and it was something I wore on my wedding day. My father had given them to her and that made it even more special. Someday I hope that my daughter will wear them on her special day!
ReplyDeleteI think they are a strand of pearls.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pearls! How nice to have a family heirloom to be used by every family generation. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteI love vintage modern too. A pearl bracelet?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! They look like either a pearl necklace or bracelet to me. Such wonderful family history.
ReplyDeleteI think it´s a pearl brooch. When I got married I used my mother´s. Something blue, something borrowed. She gave it to me some years ago and when my daughter marries I will give it to her. Beautiful fabric!!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinately pearls. But how they are currently worn...hmmm. Bracelet, earrings, maybe both? Or a set that includes a necklace?
ReplyDeleteEvery woman should have a strand of pearls.
ReplyDeletePearls for sure...but think you are throwing us off with the wedding picture...gonna guess a pearl bracelet. Lisa in Texas
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pearls! I have my mother's pearls also, and will hopefully have a little girl to be able to pass them down to one day.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess pearls, maybe necklace and earrings?
ReplyDeleteI'm going with pearl earrings. Thanks for the chance...I just LOVE Vintage Modern!
ReplyDeletePearls. But you threw me off with the, "not as obvious as you might think" part. So, I'm going to say pearl earrings and braceletnor pearl buttons on her wedding dress.
ReplyDeletei think its a stand of pearls, thanks for the chance
ReplyDeleteGoing out on a limb here, but I would say a lovely pearls...Love pearls...Pearl necklace would be my guess
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing pearls!
ReplyDeletePearl earrings - possibly pearls with diamonds as the pic of your mother looks a bit sparkly. Love your new fabric line!!
ReplyDeletePearl necklace and/or earrings
ReplyDeletePearls, pearls and more pearls. The complete set...earrings, bracelet and necklace...it looks as though your mom is wearing all three in the picture (if I look real close it looks like she has the bracelt on her left wrist), I could be wrong...but that's my guess!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for May and Vintage Modern to be available to us all. Everyone should have some Vintage Modern in their life
I'm guess a strand of pearls.
ReplyDeleteThese are unstrung pearls in the photo. Maybe restrung as another pearl necklace or used as the buttons on the wedding gown. ~ Jody R.
ReplyDeletepearl necklace
ReplyDeletemarksey3@msn.com
I think it's a coral colored hankie...as the something old for your daughter who got married? Who knows...just trying NOT to go with the pearls ;)
ReplyDeleteOh beautifu pearls.
ReplyDeleteMy guess it is a strand of pearls.
ReplyDeleteCould it be a garter with pearls? Something "not as obvious as you might think"!
ReplyDeleteA set of pearls (necklace, earings, bracelet?) Always such a crisp, classic look! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess a pearl necklace or a strand of pearls.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with pearls. Thanks for this chance!

ReplyDeleteA strand of pearls - a wonderful thing to pass down. Love your designs and patterns!
ReplyDeleteI believe it is your mom's gorgeous pearl necklace. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteWell, pearls are obvious and a necklace would be obvious so what would be not quite so obvious? Earrings? Bracelet? I'm looking forward to the answer on this one.
ReplyDeleteI guess pearls is the obvious answer, but I can't come up with another. Looking forward to seeing the fabric line up close.
ReplyDeleteLOOKS LIKE YOUR MOM'S PEARL NECKLACE!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS BONNIE FOR SHARING!
HAPPY DESIGNING AND STITCHING!

Hi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking at one time, there were pearls on a strand/necklace. Then, they came unstrung, and maybe were re-strung into a bracelet.
hope i'm right!
Necklace and earring set is my guess!
ReplyDeleteGrandma's pearls, what a wonderful tradition to pass on.
ReplyDeleteWedding jewelry of pearls, necklace, earrings, maybe even a bracelet.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I have some oft grandma's pearls. My guess is pearl jewelry-earrings or a bracelet maybe.
ReplyDeletePearls. Necklace? Maybe used as buttons? Or just necklace and earrings.
ReplyDeletePearl necklace from your mother.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess that these are your grandmother's pearls? Maybe the something borrowed from your wedding? Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletePearls----once belonging to your mother and previously her mother? Now they are yours and made their way to your daughter's wedding...something borrowed, something old? HOw wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to guess!!!
I think it is a pearl necklace or bracelet and some pearl earrings. I hope I win because I love your fabric! Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletePearls! They are beautiful!

My first thought was a pearl necklace. Then you said think twice. So I am going with my second thought . Pearl earrings.
ReplyDeleteearrings

Pearl necklace & earrings is what I think it is. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletedebra at first glance obvious responce strand of pearls but as you went on with clues then showed the wedding dress i will go with a memory from my grandmother. I was handed down pearls but off the strand and pearl buttons of different sizes from her wedding gown since in the picture it looks like they are off the strand and in the right lower corner some smaller my guess will be pearls off strand handed down as a keepsake a combo of necklace and gown. thanks for the opportunity debrakinkade@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteCould it be a lovely strand of pearls?
ReplyDeleteBeautifull old Pearls, wauw I wish my mom had some....
ReplyDeleteRegards Miranda
I think pearl earrings. I love pearls! They are just so feminine, and ones that are handed down are so special. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love pearls! I'm guessing they were once a long necklace and were used to make a smaller one with the leftovers added to the dress and wedding gown and maybe even earrings too. Can't wait to find out!!

Love this new line and your new patterns I think this is your best yet! Keep up the good work! Can't wait for this new line!!

ReplyDeleteI will guess a pearl necklace. Joanne

ReplyDeleteandersonclanatmacdotcom
I have to go with the pearls! There is nothing like a vintage pearl necklace . I have my grandmother's pearls that I wore on my wedding day.w
ReplyDeleteI'm going away from the obvious but am not too sure with my guess at the same time. I was going to guess a purse with a pearl cluster clasp and strung pearls for the handle and matching gloves that were the type that you had the side opening on and pearls for the buttons.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is pearls... maybe both necklace and earrings? I'm already in love with your new fabric line, can't wait to get my hands on some of it! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I was going with a pearl necklace but am now torn between necklace and earrings... earrings, lets go with pearl earrings. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope it's a string of pearls. I used to wear my grandmother's all the time. My husband got me some when we were first married and I can't wait to let my daughters wear them when they get married.
ReplyDeletePearl earrings? :-) Or a set of earrings and a necklace...
ReplyDeleteA set of pearl jewelry. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like pearls to me! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletePearls... I was thinking bracelet or earrings. But I noticed the bride has a lovely pearl ring. So maybe you broke up your mother's pearl necklace into various pieces of smaller jewelry?
ReplyDeletePearls are so beautiful. Looks like a strand of pearls as in a necklace. I hope you didn't take them apart, but if you did, some may have been sewn onto the dress.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Margaret K.
Pearls, and by the look of it, a pearl necklace!
ReplyDeletePearl necklace
ReplyDeleteI will say pearls.
ReplyDeletePlease let it be dentures!!!!
ReplyDeletePearl necklace.
ReplyDeletePearls I guess.
ReplyDeleteA strand of pearls, I'd say. I wish I had inherited someone's pearls. I adore pearls...even more than the BOM that I'm heading over to sign up for right now! :D It's gorgeous.

ReplyDeletePearls!! Definitely a vintage classic. Looks like a strand of pearls - both your Mom and your daughter look beautiful wearing them.
ReplyDeleteI would say those are the pearl handles to the sweetest little purse.
ReplyDeletePearls? Pearly whites? Unless the trick question is a gold tooth you guys are passing around. Get it? Cause it's not a pearly white. . . Bahaha!
ReplyDeleteMy guess is a pearl necklace. Definitely vintage modern, lovely in any era!
ReplyDeletePearl earrings
ReplyDeletepearl earrings or necklace. thanks!

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking pearl necklace!
ReplyDelete
