Signs of Fall

Every Fall I look forward to fresh ripe peaches.
I made this peach crisp the other day and just had to share the recipe.

Peach Crisp
7 large ripe peaches, peeled and cut into chunks
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. white sugar
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together in a bowl and pour in an 8" x 8" glass pan.

Topping
1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cube softened butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Combine all ingredients.  It will be crumbly.

Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 min. or until filling is hot and bubbly and the topping is brown and crispy.  Top with whip cream or ice cream.

Although I didn't, I could have eaten the whole pan myself.  MMMmmmm.

 Happy Fall,
Bonnie

Oh Sew Sweet Moda Hop

Welcome to my day on the Moda Blog Hop and Welcome to my neck of the woods.  If you are new to my blog, I am Bonnie Olaveson, my pattern company is Cotton Way and I design fabric for Moda with my daughter Camille. I live here in Rigby, Idaho most of the time, but Camille told you all about Rigby on Friday, so I thought I would take you just an hour north to my other hometown, Island Park, Idaho where I love to spend every minute I can.  It is one of the most beautiful places on earth, so I just had to share it with you.  If you are wondering where it is located, it is about 30 minutes south of the west entrance to Yellowstone Park.

As you can see from the sign, Island Park has the longest Main Street in America.  It is 35 miles long and very scenic.

If you look really close, you can see the moose in the water on the left hand side.

In the summer we spend as much time as we can boating on the lake...

...tubing

and water skiing.

 We like to sunbath,

play on the beach

and bike.

In Island Park there is some of the best fishing in the world in the summer,

and snowmobiling in the winter.

This is Island Park City Hall.

The General Store

and bank.

There is even a spa, although I have never been there.

And yes, everything is made of logs.

There are outdoor craft fairs

and antique shows...

...and unique places to eat. This log cabin restaurant is called Boondocks.

We love our little cabin by the lake, which is usually pretty quiet and peaceful...

...but even better when it's crazy and everyone is there.

We are all about family.

One of my sweet friends gave me this sign for our cabin.
I love it so much, thanks Nancy!

Sometimes, when it's not so crazy at the cabin, I even find a little time to sew.

Speaking of sewing, our new fabric collection Marmalade will be arriving in stores in October.

To celebrate it's arrival, I will have more new patterns using Marmalade in October,
                                                                             but for now,
I have one pattern ready just for all of you following the Moda Hop.

For a limited time you can get the PDF download for just $5.00. Check it out here

The pattern includes 3 different Table Toppers that are so fast and easy to make.  With just one big block, you can piece them in 2 hours or less.  No kidding, they really are that easy.  These are great for a beginner quilter and would also make great baby quilts.  They are 41" x 41".

The other NEW patterns will be available in a few weeks.

Oh, and you can also get the pattern for our free Marmalade project here.

Moda was very generous and so of course I have some Marmalade to give a way as well. Make a comment to enter and check back on Saturday, Sept. 15 to see if you are a winner!

Stop by Lucie Summers hometown today too and

Kansas Troubles, Malka Dubrawsky, and Laundry basket tomorrow.

Have a sweet day!
Bonnie
