Moda Friendship Quilt Along

Hello! And welcome to the Moda Friendship Block Quilt Along! 
Today is my day, and I am so excited to tell you about it.

We are all sharing a 9" block, so each day you can collect 3 different blocks. If you are really ambitious you can stitch them as we go! By the end of the Quilt Along you could have all kinds of great projects to make with them or sash them together to make a sampler quilt. 

So gather your quilting friends, your mats and cutters and get excited to collect them all!

My block is made with our new happy-go-lucky fabric line. So quick and easy to piece!



As you can see, mine is still in progress because I chose to hand stitch my block.  I love to have a hand stitching project going all the time and thought it might be fun to stitch it in red to make the stitches really pop. Please don't judge my stitches, I really do hand stitch just for fun.

Some fun ideas for using the block as a Friendship gift might be to frame it...
 (what a nice keepsake for your children or grandchildren - and of course you could sign it)

...make a sewing bag out of your block like these...



and make sure you fill it with some quilting goodies.

You could make it into a rice bag like this for one of your quilting friends that stitches late into the night and needs something to soothe those tight, sore shoulders... 


  ...or you could even make it into a table trivet like this.


It's always fun to give a handmade gift.  In fact, check the shop often because these patterns and others will be on sale for $5.00 scattered throughout the Friendship Quilt Along. The sale will feature items that would make great handmade gifts.

If you need some fat quarters to sprinkle into your Friendship Blocks, I have a limited amount of four different bundles in the shop as well. They are a mix of prints from some of our fabric lines.

    Pick a favorite? Theyt are all so fun!! I think I would have to choose twirl, it's just such a "Happy Go Lucky" pattern. :) Although, I really need a new ironing board cover. Love your friendship block!! Thank you

    I love the Topsy Turvy pattern most, with the patchwork ironing board cover coming in a close second. I've got Happy-Go-Lucky on my birthday wish list and even set the fabric bundle picture on the screen of my hubby's iPad as a huge hint! ;) I can't wait!

    It took me a while because I like many of your new patterns, but I chose Cotton Way Candy #952. Something about the curves is calling out "Make me!". Also one of the few really terrific patterns I've seen for Charm Packs. Thanks for the chance at all the giveaways!

    Oh, what fun! Thanks for the exciting activity in the Moda Friendship quilt along, just love it! It is a great way to brighten anyone's day with fun fabrics with different designers especially with all the snow outside on this cold February day! I love your Slice of Charm! In your Happy Go Lucky patterns, I love the oven mitts especially the churn dash pattern ones. What a great way to incorporate our quilt love into our daily activities! Off to work I go thinking about my fun blocks to quilt tonight!

    My fav is All a Flutter, reminds me of an antique pattern. All the accessories are great, too, the oven mitts, bags, ironing board cover. I'm always looking for the next great quilt pattern, though so the quilt takes the top prize for me. Love your collections.

    I love Bundle Up Baby Boy! I have a baby boy and finding cute fabrics to make quilts for him can be challenging. I love the blues and greens from this line and can't wait to make him some more quilts!

    I think the red stitching on your block is charming. I like the effect it gives.

    As for your patterns, I like the table trivets. I think they would make great gifts in, say, Happy Go Lucky fabric!

    What could make a gal more happy and even more lucky than having a gazillion bags, one for anything that you need to carry along and what a sweet way to do it than in one of these cute bags so..my favorite is the Sew Easy Bag pattern. The new fabric line makes them so happy to look at too. Would love to be the lucky winner.

    I wasn't sure if you wanted to know which of the patterns I like best from this blog or from the new Happy-Go-Lucky patterns. From previous blog post, I would say the All A Flutter. My 3-year-old squealed with delight when she saw it. From this post, the Table Trivets. I think my 9-year-old might enjoy using it to make some gifts for grandmothers and aunts.

    It is so hard to choose just one... getting a new grandbaby so the Bundle Up Baby Girl & Boy patterns are my current favorites, but I love the Sew Easy Bags, my kids call me the "Bag Lady"...
