Summer re-visited

I don't know about all of you, but I can't believe summer is officially over.  Here in Idaho it hardly seems like we had a summer. There were not near enough warm, lazy days.  For instance on our annual Jefferson County Stampede Days in June we were all wearing our winter coats and snow hats to keep warm.  I have turned on the heated seats in my Jeep every month so far this year and am sure I will be using it every month for the rest of the year.  Who ever invented those, Thank you!

Never the less, we did have a few warm days. I LOVE SUMMER!!! It is my favorite time of year.
So I thought I would share a few pics of our summer fun.

We went to a few parades...

My husbands father with his Belgium horses in the 4th of July Parade.

Mr. K enjoying the day.

We had lots of fun at Grandma's (me) house climbing...

and swinging...

throwing rocks in grandpa's pond...with only one small slip...

cooking out...

and playing games.

We rode horses,

celebrated several birthdays...

picked and ate lots and lots of raspberries...MMMM

We had our daughter, Emily and her husband Jordan's Open House in our back yard.

  What a great day!

We had a wonderful family Reunion in Island Park.

with camping...

and boating

wakeboarding,
and lots and lots of waterskiing...
little guys...

and big guys.

Yes, that's my husband at 53 showin' em how it's done!

On the way home we stopped at Big Juds for a BIG, BIG burger,

and some ice cream.
We haven't all been together at our home for 6 years!
It was so fun to get together!
Don't we have the cutest kids and grand children ever!!!
PS - One Olaveson baby due any day and a little Olaveson/Roskelley baby due in December.
That makes 10 grand children for those of you who are counting...we are so blessed!
My husband and I took one last overnight get a way to Yellowstone Park last week.  It was so beautiful!

Old Faithful is amazing!
...and did I mention I LOVE SUMMER!  I hate to see it end.

Wow, that was a lot of pictures to wade through, but I think all of you that did deserve a prize!  Make a comment and you will be entered into a drawing for a "Bliss" charm pack!

 "Bliss" In stores now!
Hope you all had a great summer!
Bonnie

  10. Oh, I LOVE Bliss... I actually got the "pre" pre-cuts and have made 2 "almost" tops. I was bound and determined to actually finish something in current fabric... WEll, I have moved from UT to SC and no ONE has BLISS!!! What are people thinking??? It is one of the cutest lines ever!!! I am adjusting to the local shops. People are nice but a lot don't even carry Moda??? Is that even possible?? I'm going on line to find it OR go back to Material Girls, I can always count on them!!! Thanks for such a beautiful line!!! AND, glad you had a great summer.

  23. I loved seeing and reading about your summer adventures in Idaho with your family. I loved visiting my grandparents every summer on their farm in southern Idaho. I happened to see the comment from Cheri C who just relocated to SC. I live in Summerville SC and we have a shop here that has Moda. It is Sew & Sew 843-871-7822 they are located on Main St. not to far from the freeway.

  28. I love Bliss. I love it so much that when I received my LONG AWAITED fat quarter bundle I could not bring myself to cut it. I fondled it for days. It's the most beautiful line of fabric I've ever seen! I would love a charm pack! But I can't promise that I'll actually be able to cut it:) I guess I'll have to make a "charming" quilt.

    Thanks for creating it!

  29. awesome pics, sure wish my summer was that good, more bad than good, had to move hubby's business, and in the process of fixing up the new location, he fell in the opening of the floor on a joice and broke some ribs, scarey day!! he is the breadwinner, and i am the sahm of our 4 kids, stressful, he is feeling better, i would love to win some bliss, it would really make my day. i have a quilt made out of cotton blossoms, and a quilt made out of simple abundance, bliss is my next project, but buying some may take a while. hope your new grandbabies a safe journey into this world this year!!!

  40. It looks like you had a great summer! Unfortunately my summer was interupted by a car accident :o( Luckily we already went on a holiday so we had enjoyed that, but now I have to remain very calm, so I can recover from my whiplash. It's very frustrating, because I can't quilt as much as I want to! But I do have a lot of time now, to think of new quilts I want to make :o) Love your new fabric range, with the bright and happy colors!

  65. I think my favorite thing about your blog, is how well you mix family and talents. I became a quilter right after I had beat cancer for the first time. My priorities were always family but everything seemed to change after cancer. I was no longer in a hurry, I wanted to enjoy every minute. I have enjoyed quilting so much. Now that I am a grandmother, it has taken on a whole new meaning. I thank you for sharing your talents and blog with us. I love any type of art work and have done it for years. I now write a motivational blog and that is my way of hoping to make a small difference in the world.
    thanks again! Lynn

  75. What a fun, fun post. I loved looking at the photos. You know, I never could get up on a pair of water skis...must have been bottom heavy huh? LOL. OH, I have missed visiting Yellowstone so I love the photo of Old Faithful. We used to make a point of going every year but it's been a few. We planned it this year but an emergency surgery for me squashed those plans fast the day before we were to leave. It's AWFUL having to unpack from a trip you never got to go on, LOL. But then, my hubby had to do all the unpacking so I guess that was a bright spot in the situation. Love the Bliss!!! I really have to get some. I haven't been able to sew in over 3 months and I am sooooo anxious to get back to it. Thanks again for sharing your family time with us. Lots of smiles. Thank you for that! Hugs...

  152. I really really love summer also, I hate to see it go. Summers are a great time for spending time with families and making memories. Looks as if you had a great summer. Here's to Fall and I hate to say it but, winter.

  153. I think that's just great that everyone was able to juggle their schedules to make your get together happen. How did your hubby feel AFTER his waterski tho? Looks like you guys take it all in stride. I would love to win some Bliss. Camille sent me over. Glad to hear she's finally feeling more like herself.

  154. Absolutely LOVE the bliss line, so have to find it in a store near me, or order on-line. It doesn't appear that the stores near me are going to carry it, what a shame. Guess I'll have to buy on-line. I love summer for the fresh fruit and vegetables but live where it's humid - can do without the humidity. You have a lovely family - thanks for the giveaway!

  169. Wonderful pictures! Thanks so much for sharing.

We are also going to be sad here in the Mid-Atlantic to see the end of summer. Especially after last years two major blizzards! DS is hoping that we get three blizzards this year so he can have more days off from school. Even after I remind him that he will have to make those days up in the Spring. LOL!
