First let me say,
Happy New Year!
It is always fun to begin a new year.
It's like a fresh new start.
If you are like me, I have great intentions to be more organized, get in better shape and have more balance in the crazy schedule I keep. I am never sure just how to make that happen. I had a brand new fabric line land on my doorstep a week before Christmas (which is so much fun to sew with), my entire family came for Christmas (so great) and I am teaching on the Moda/ Stitchin Heaven Cruise (can't wait to meet all of you) at the end of January. It's a little overwhelming, crazy and very exciting all at the same time.
Oh... and I also designed, wrote and stitched 5 new patterns!
So introducing
Sweet Pea
This is a 6 Month, Row of the Month Quilt. It is written so shops can use it as a class for 6 months, but the pattern includes the instructions for all 6 months!
No buying 6 different patterns. It includes instructions for the
traditional fusible applique method and the soft raw edge method.
Wish
This pattern takes 20 Layer Cakes and also has the instructions for either
soft raw edge or fusible web method.
Ziggy Petals
There are two sizes in this Table Topper pattern.
The large one uses Charm Squares...
... and the small one uses tiny scraps.
Scrumptious
The perfect project for a jelly roll.
You can either do the scallops or the zig-zags, both quilts with one jelly roll.
Baby size or throw size. So fast and easy!
Peppermint Pizzaz
A 43" x 43" Table Topper for Christmas.
(this was a picture before it was quilted)
So, hope you like my new patterns and our new fabric line.
Even though it has been a crazy sewing marathon couple of weeks, it has been so fun to sew with fresh new fabric that rememinds me of SPRING!
And as for my new experience...
In two weeks I am teaching on the Moda 2012/ Stitchin Heaven Cruise.
Hey any of you ladies out there that are joining us, you are in for a great week!
The perfect week, sandy beaches and quilting.
I also want to let you know that Fat Quarter Shop has chosen
Vintage Modern for their 2012 Designer Mystery Block of the Month.
Thanks Kimberly and crew!
Camille and I have a block in the quilt as well.
You won't want to miss out on this project!
You won't want to miss out on this project!
And last but not least...
I am sending one lucky winner a box of scraps from Vintage Modern.
Leave a comment with one of your New Years Resolutions, then come back on
Tuesday the 17th to see who the winner is.
Wishing you a
Happy 2012!
Bonnie
My NYs resolutions is to see how much Vintage Modern fabric I can collect. Especially scraps....giggle. Actually it's just to be happy and make someone laugh.
ReplyDeleteNo resolutions for me. Instead I set a goal to learn to applique in 2012.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to step out of my comfort zone of simple straight lines. I started a Dear Jane project, if there is anything to move one out of a comfort zone it's DJ!
ReplyDeleteWell now I've resolved to get that Sweet Pea pattern so I can check "learn how to applique" off my list while making an adorable quilt!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous patterns, gorgeous fabric. Can't wait!
More sewing!
ReplyDeleteWOW. Love all the new patterns and Vintage Modern is gorgeous. I hope to try some new techniques this year. Made my first dresden plate yesterday so off to a good start.
ReplyDeleteOooh, great patterns! My favorite is the first: Sweet Pea. And I love the new fabric line....would LOVE to have the scraps!!! My goal for this year is mostly to get my sewing projects organized so I can hop from one to another quickly with everything in one place and finish lots of UFOs this year.
ReplyDeleteI have a few UFO's that have been sitting and waiting so this is the year to get those done up. The new patterns just look so sweet!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my main goals this year is to finish my UFO's and also check mark those projects that I want to do and I haven't been able to do. Thank you for the opportunity. your new patterns are so fresh and lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of mucking out the depths of all six of my kids closets. Oy vey. It's amazing what yuck I've found in there. I think I'm rewarding myself with some quilting time when I'm done:-)
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! In 2012 I have a goal of running a half marathon. I'm new to quilting and I'm just finishing my first quilt. This is so fun! Next up...My beautiful stack of Ruby.
ReplyDeleteI've resolved to finish up my three UFOs in the next six weeks. I also want to get rid of those 5 pounds that snuck up during the Christmas holidays! I've got a feeling that the UFOs may be the easier resolution!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy goal for 2012 is to sign up for the FQS Designer Mystery BOM. Done! And to make the blocks (or, I guess half of them, anyway) on time, each month. That's a challenge! Finally, to make my little girl a new bedroom set out of Vintage Modern. Love it! I've already planned the quilt and calculated the amount of fabric needed so I can march down to the quilt shop the day it arrives and get started! Thanks for the cute fabric line!
ReplyDeleteAs a new quilter, my resolution is to make my first quilt using Moda precuts, a jelly roll. Love the new fabric line!!
ReplyDeleteI hope to learn to free motion quilt this year. Your quilts are all so beautiful. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteGreat patterns! I love Sweet Pea and Peppwrmint Patty! My resolution is to get in shape and start a family! Happy times!

ReplyDeleteNo resolutions for me. I gave those up many years ago. I did set my goals this year to do some charity quilt work and actually do some quilting for me and my family. Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every day, no more!!! Thanks for the giveaway.... kisses
ReplyDeleteTo Focus on the task in front of me and enjoy the moment.

ReplyDeleteMy resolution... to have fun sewing again...:O)))
ReplyDeleteFinding out why I dont want to sew and getting medications ... maybe 2012.. will be a happy year.. and winning some pretty happy fabrics would be just wonderful.. :O))
Great Patterns! I think Sweet Pea is my favorite!! My resolution was to take time for myself everyday(sew) :) So far it's going well! Thanks for the chance to win some great fabric!
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to finish more more things this year! I bought a lot...and started a lot...over the last couple of years...now to finish a lot!
ReplyDeleteI do not really have a new years resolution, just to keep going like we are, stay healthy, happy, and keep working hard with my quilting.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to try to be more patient.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteLove your new fabric line! And I'd love to win those scraps! Some of my resolutions are to complete some of the quilts that I have started and to have my boys (at least the 4 oldest) take turns doing the laundry! (With 7 of us in the house, that might give me a little more time to sew!)
I resolve to be more patient. Sounds easy, but it's not! Love your new patterns, by the way. Have fun on the cruise.
ReplyDeleteGreat new patterns, and fabric. Thanks for the giveaway. I really don't make resolutions, but I do have a goal of making each of my children a throw size quilt this year.

ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie. My resolution isn't really a resolution I think. It's just what I want to do better at this year - being a better friend , better to myself and doing more for others. And also being grateful for all the blessings I already have.
