New Patterns, New Babies and a New Year!

First of all, I am a grandma again! My newest granddaughter came almost a month early and surprised us all. She was just over 5 pounds and so much fun to snuggle! I just had to share a picture along with my new patterns. (It's a grandmas prerogative to brag a little bit right?)

Second of all, We are so very excited to announce our new

Fresh and Fancy Table Runner Club for 2010!

A fresh and fancy table runner for each and every month of the year. It is our fourth series (and of course our favorite so far). Each pattern has a Fancy side with more piecing and/or applique, and a Fresh side, simple and fast using the left over fabric from the front. It's like two table toppers in one pattern. Each runner is approximately 21" x 42". The perfect size for almost any table.

I have used some of my very favorite Moda fabrics for each of the runners. (I may a little biased, but Moda is the best!) January - June are available now and July - December will be available in March.

You can join a Fresh and Fancy Club at your local quilt store, or if there is not one in your area and you want to join online, head on over to Fat Quarter Shop to sign up. Kimberly and the gals have all the fabric kits and patterns to get you started.

To celebrate our 20th Anniversary (yes 20 years!) we are giving away an exclusive Fresh and Fancy Club Membership to a blog reader. The winner will receive the entire years worth of Table Runner patterns as well as a bonus prize, a January fabric kit to get started. To enter, make a comment and tell me what project you are going to start the new year off with. The giveaway ends at midnight on Sunday Dec. 13th, so check back on Monday morning to see who the winner is.

Stop back by for more 20 year Anniversary Celebrations throughout the year. You won't want to miss out, it is going to be alot of fun!

Bonnie

  7. Congratulations on the new Grandbaby, she sure is a cutie!

Happy 20th anniversary! It must have been a wonderful journey. In the New Year, I am hoping to finally start a quilt for myself. I only started quilting in May/June and so far have made four quilts for other people but nothing for Alex and I. A lovely blog friend just sent me some fabric that I've been eyeing as a gift and it will definitely go into something for me!

  10. What an absolutely gorgeous granddaughter you have. Congrats. Congrats on 20 years as well. That is truly an accomplishment in todays economy. I plan on getting some tops that I have for our church's Hugs Ministry quilted so they are ready to go to kids in crisis. Thank you for sharing this wonderful give-away with us. Those table runners look like a lot of fun to do and use every day. Take care and God bless, Cory

  12. Wow, a whole year's worth of table runner patterns - I seriously don't know how you pattern designers do it! For the New Year, I've resolved to cut into my fat quarter towers. I think I'm going to pull out the Mistletoe Manor stack from way back when and start making some dresden plates.

  13. Congradulations on 20 years! I have so many projects stacked up, that it is hard to decide where to start. After my January Schnibbles and my January Pennslyvania Dutch Block, and my January Fresh and Fancy table runner, I think that I will work on a quilt using Moda's "Hello Betty". Have a wonderful Holiday!

  14. I love these table runner patterns! And I love your giveaway question...I always like to start the new year off with a project just for me and just for fun after spending most of December working on gifts. I haven't decided on this year's project yet, but it will have applique in it! I love the YoYoVille quilt in Simple Abundance and may choose that one...it has applique and yo-yo's!

  15. I would love to win the table runner patterns. They are adorable and we just got a new dining table that they would look great on - and actually fit on (our old one was tiny!) My project will be the sassafrass pattern from Camille. I have had it for a couple of months and just found the perfect fabric to make it with.

  33. Jan is going to be spent finishing up projects that Christmas put to the back burner. Not that I am going to neglect new projects. I have decided 2010 is going to be a year of working on technique, so I will be doing several BOTM's (mostly the free online ones many have started already) and Jan 1'st Iam going to begin the Calander Quilt. I have a bunch of stuff cut out for it already. No real projects are planned unless someone decides to have a baby, or get married, or if something jumps out and says "YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME!"

    ReplyDelete
  34. I will be starting the new year by making 2 baby quilts for a co-worker who is expecting twins. She said they are both girls. I really hope so since the fabrics I picked are very girly.

  35. Bonnie, I love your table runners. I really like that they are reversable, awesome. I'm a Moda girl too, they have the best fabrics. In fact I couldn't resist getting a Simple Abundance fat quarter pack, I love it. I'm thinking of starting the new year doing the Cameos quilt by Fig Tree Quilts. Sherri at A Quilters Life has made several of them and has hooked me with them. I have honey buns and I'm ready to get going on a Cameo quilt. Your little granddaughter Olivia is so cute.

  36. Well, let's start with the REALLY important stuff first...what a beautiful baby. She is just so precious and I want to know where she got all that hair??? Both my daughters had shiny little heads till they were two ***sigh***. Congratulations she really is a keeper. Congrats on your 20th year too. Wow, where does the time go? I know what my first project of the new year will be. I just bought the fabric for it last Tuesday at my final Thimbleberries BOM class. I found the 'Simple Abundance' collection standing in my way as I walked back to the classroom and it was love at first sight. I had all of the ladies that worked in the shop cracking up because I walk with a cane and I was trying to carry at least 8 bolts of fabric to the counter...yes they help, oh they were only too happy to help because I went back for more, LOL. Not sure exactly what pattern I will use yet but I'm certain I bought enough for more than one quilt. Lord!!! I know I did. So, there you have it, whatever it is, it will be done in Simple Abundance. But I'm gonna have to order some online cause they were out of the brown, green and red floral tone on tones for me to use with all the other glorious prints. So, thanks to you and Camille for my new stash and I'm sure the ladies at Sew and Save in Clearfield Utah thank you also. *wink* Oh, and thank you for this fun, generous giveaway, so exciting. I can't imagine having a years worth of projects lined up. Good Luck to EVERYONE!!!

Before I start a new project next year, I'm determined to finish my "Wallflower" quilt ~ it's just for me (hey, with my initials on it it isn't too easy for my family & friends to "steal" it from me ;o) ). It's half way quilted since September (I planned it as a birthday gift to myself...) and needs to be finished. And then? Hmmm...endless possibilities...maybe a little wallhanging out of a S.A. charm pack ;o) to warm me up...
I also dream of designing my own stitchery/patchwork quilt...I already have the fabric (Rouenneries) - now I only have to transform thousand ideas into a quilt...

I've decided to quilt a ton of baby quilts and keep a stockpile ready for all the expectant mothers that I know of and also a few extras just in case!. I love to be ahead of the game. A hand made quilt is always so much nicer to receive.

I don't have much time for quilting right now, but I am sure if I won the Fresh and Fancy Table Runner patterns I would find the time. Thanks for the giveaway and Good Luck to everyone!

  118. Your year has been exciting! I am not sure what I will begin next year with, I'm not finished with Christmas gifts for this year!!! Hopefully they will be done and wrapped for this year! I have a quilt for my Aunt Judy that is all really bright fabrics for a schoolhouse quilt, maybe I will start with that one. Best wishes for your twentieth year, my husband and I will celebrate twenty years of marriage this year, I guess we both started great things 20 years ago! I have done a few of your topper patterns and love them! Thanks for your great work!

  120. Oh darn, just read the email I got today from The Fat Quarter Shop telling about this giveaway and it seems that has ended. Oh well, I still had to comment because this sounds like an awesome club. I only wish that I could spend the money but a new roof very badly needed and an upgrade to our electrical in the house takes precedence unfortunately.

I am actually starting the new year out making, strangely enough, table runners for everyone on my list. I developed trigger finger in my thumb preventing me from doing any sewing at all back in October so I've not been able to do anything. I hope to get this taken care of after the first of the year and then I'm starting to make table runners for everyone so that by July I will hopefully be way ahead of my holiday lists for next year already.

Good luck to everyone which got their entries in on time. That's an awesome prize for sure.

  122. Wow, twenty years! You must have started when your children were small. I would LOVE to win your set of 12 table runner patterns.

Now for your question. I'm so glad it's an easy one! I will be starting the New Year off making a quilt for my brother and his fiance who are getting married in April. I have the fabric and I'm itching to get started on it. But I have a few other things that have to be finished first. I hope my self control can hold out.
